Two directions, two possible failure points

An Airbnb export imported into Booking.com says nothing about whether a Booking.com reservation appears in Airbnb. Each platform imports its own external feed and refreshes it on its own schedule.

Direct bookings, owner blocks and maintenance periods also need a clear entry point. Only the calendar distributed to every channel can pass those dates onward.

The controlled block test

  1. 1.Choose an unbooked date far enough in the future.
  2. 2.Block it only in the source calendar and record the time.
  3. 3.Wait for the destination’s refresh cycle or use its permitted manual refresh.
  4. 4.Verify the block and repeat the test in the opposite direction.
  5. 5.Remove the block and confirm that the date becomes available again.

Export Airbnb availability into Booking.com, then export Booking.com availability into Airbnb. Treat them as two independent connections and test both.

What is a safe calendar sync test?

Why test the removal?

A stale block can silently remove sellable nights. Verifying rollback proves more than seeing the first imported event.
