Questions hosts ask before connecting calendars
Does iCal update instantly?
No. iCal feeds refresh periodically, and each connected platform controls its own schedule. Airbnb currently says imported calendars update automatically every three hours and also offers a rate-limited manual refresh.
Does iCal sync prices and guest messages?
Usually not. An iCal connection normally exchanges availability events. Rates, fees, messages, listing content and full reservation records require other integrations or manual work.
Is connecting one calendar enough?
Not when you want availability to travel both ways. Airbnb to Booking.com and Booking.com to Airbnb are separate connections that must each be configured and tested.
Can these tools guarantee no double bookings?
No. They expose configuration and operating risks, but delays, manual changes and platform failures remain possible.
When is a channel manager safer?
Consider one for shared inventory, rapid booking velocity, several channels, larger portfolios, multiple operators, or when delayed availability exchange creates unacceptable risk.
