Private browser check

Airbnb iCal link checker

Catch a public listing page, insecure protocol and unusual URL structure before adding the feed to another calendar.

Short answer

The checker reads only the characters in the address you enter. It never opens the calendar or saves the value, so it cannot confirm that the feed exists, is current or refreshes correctly.

Check the link locally

Private by design. This tool runs in your browser. It does not send calendar addresses or checklist answers to Host Pilot, analytics, storage or the page URL.

What a private calendar link represents

A feed can expose availability events through an unguessable address. Someone holding that address may be able to read occupancy timing, so this tool shows only the hostname and a masked feed label.

Format inspection is only the first step. Add the feed at the destination, then perform a controlled block-and-release test.

Protected private iCal link connecting two booking calendars
Treat the complete feed address as a private key even when it carries only calendar availability.
Safe workflow for copying, checking locally and pasting a private calendar feed
Copy, check locally, paste directly at the destination, and replace the export URL if it is exposed.

A safer four-step handling routine

  1. 1.Export only from the platform’s official calendar settings.
  2. 2.Keep the complete link out of documents, chat threads and screenshots.
  3. 3.Paste it directly into the destination and run a controlled test.
  4. 4.If exposure is suspected, remove the feed at the source and export a replacement.

Questions hosts ask before connecting calendars

Does the checker open my iCal feed?

No. It reviews only the address format inside this browser tab and never requests the feed.

Does a valid-looking result prove the calendar works?

No. It cannot prove that the feed exists, contains current events, is authorized, or refreshes at the destination.

Why should an iCal URL be private?

The address can contain an unguessable token that grants access to calendar availability. Treat the entire URL like a private credential.

Should an iCal URL end in .ics?

Airbnb instructs hosts to use an imported calendar URL ending in .ics. Other providers may use different delivery details, so verify against their current official documentation.

Can I paste a listing page instead?

No. A public listing page is not a calendar feed. Export the private calendar address from the platform’s availability or calendar settings.

Turn the checklist into a maintained calendar routine

Host Pilot can import external availability calendars and provide an export feed for your property. Review every connection, test both directions and keep a human owner for exceptions.
