Instagram Engagement Calculator

Calculate a transparent engagement snapshot for a public Instagram profile. The tool uses visible likes and comments from up to 12 recent posts, divides average interactions by the reported follower count, and shows which posts could be included.

Submitted URLs and public source data are processed on our servers and by Apify and OpenAI. No signup is required. Do not submit private access details.

Instagram Engagement Calculator: How this analysis works

  1. 1

Enter a public Instagram username or profile URL. Private-account content is not available.

  2. 2

Only posts with visible like and comment counts contribute to the calculation. Hidden counts remain unknown rather than becoming zero.

  3. 3

Engagement rate equals average likes plus comments per usable post, divided by followers, multiplied by 100. Review the dates and post mix before comparing profiles.

Illustrative example

If ten usable posts average 80 likes and 20 comments, and the profile has 5,000 followers, the sample engagement rate is 2%. This does not measure reach, saves, shares, story activity or sales.

What this result can and cannot tell you

  • This is a small public-post sample, not Instagram Insights or a full account audit.
  • A current follower count may differ from the audience size when older posts were published.
  • The tool does not establish whether followers are genuine, value a sponsorship or predict campaign performance.
